I’d like to step right into this image of a side street in Trastevere, Rome,
and eat tonnarelli cacio e pepe at one of those tables.
I’ve been trolling the App Store for the past month or so, antsy for Parla Food’s Rome for Foodies app to hit the market. Happened to stop by today and lo! There it is, on sale for $3.99. Of course I downloaded it straightaway. Written by Rome-based travel writer and food historian Katie Parla, it gives a quality lowdown of don’t-miss places where you can eat and drink well in the Eternal City. No lackluster tourist traps allowed.
I love to read about that intersection where food and travel and culture meet, in any country, and apps like this one and Elizabeth Minchilli’s Eat Rome just whet my hunger to live in Italy someday myself.
