This Cosas Mínimas by Blanca Gómez print has always reminded me of how an introvert in the throes of her alone time may look to other people (lonely, isolated) and how she may actually feel (perfectly content with her own company).
Or it could be a metaphor for how she sometimes feels surrounded by throngs of people: very alone.
The fact that the print is named Fête always puzzled me, since the word means “festival” or “lavish outdoor party or entertainment.” Where are all the other people? Maybe this girl has stolen away from the hoopla to enjoy a quiet moment alone. Or maybe “fête” is a celebration of self, introvert or not?
In any case, the deceptively simple image intrigues me. I like blancucha’s minimalist style.
